Almost 2 years...

Sorry to interrupt Thanksgiving with this, but it really struck me...

Here is a clip from an AP article I found online:

"Thailand will next week begin burying 513 bodies of tsunami victims that have gone unclaimed or unidentified nearly two years after the catastrophe...
The bodies include those of 103 victims who have been identified, but whose families have yet to collect the remains"

It's pretty amazing to think that more than 500 people have still not been claimed. Does that mean that their whole family was wiped out by the tsunami? Does it mean that they were loners that had few or no friends or family?
Probably more, horrific is that more than a 100 of the bodies have been identified, but no one has come to claim them and the remains. Some of them are from different countries, so travel (costs & visas) may be an issue, but still?! If one of your loved ones had been killed in a tragedy, wouldn't you claim them?
It reminds me of how wonderful it is to be "claimed":
