It reminds me of a Johnny Cash song
Flood waters have returned to Thailand*- and more importantly, Chiang Mai.

Above: Looking up the Ping River as it flows on the downstream from Chiang Mai. Below: Debris stuck on the bridge (On lower bridges this causes a problem, but not so much here.)

Above: The water was about a foot from coming onto this road. There was a house behind me when I took this photo; the yard was lower than the road, so if the water rises above the road, the house will flood.
Above: Across the river, the waters are already encroaching. Below: the "Mighty" Ping in all it's brown splendor.
Below: The river has alreay claimed this yard. The white line above the fence is a wall of sandbags, which are now almost as common as spirit houses in Chiang Mai.
Holding down the fort!
We have taken precautions to protect our buildings (which aren't close to the area where the photos were taken, but are definitely close enough to the river and several creeks); God-willing, we won't get hit by the flood waters. My apartment is on the other side of town and on the 14th floor, so I should be alright. However, there are some meetings in town soon and the flooding has hurt and could significantly hurt the preparations for these meetings. Please pray that wouldn't happen."four feet high and risin'!"
*Chiang Mai was affected by no less than 3 floods this time last year. 2 did significant flooding to our building and several co-workers' homes.
