Chiang Mai: Part 2

A view of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in the distance from one of the cabins at the Doi Suthep-Pui National Park.

Above: This is the base of the stairs going up to the temple. There were so many people- it was crazy! My friends said they had never seen so many people. It was a bad day for photos because it was almost impossible to get a photo without someone walking into the shot.
Below: One of dozens of kids that were "performing" for the tourists... and money. I believe these 2 girls are Hmong (since there is a Hmong village on the mountain). The would just aimlessly sing in hopes of getting some coins. Apparently, one was tuckered out and crashed on her sister's lap.

Above: The entrance to the temple (and masses of people).
Below: A view of the city from the temple. If you look on the left side about 1/3 of the way from the top, you can see a little strip that is darker. That is the top of a mountain range; the clouds, smoke and haze block the lower portions of the mountains.

Up next: Inside the temple.
