Out to Sea

I just got back from a trip to Southern Thailand. It was a trip that included flights, long van rides and boat rides. Below is a photo of one of the local boatmen/fishermen and the motor of his long-tail boat.

Above: a group of island dwelling Thai kids. I love the variety of expressions on their faces, especially the 2 girls in the front. Is that terror, anger or bewilderment?

Below is a description of the living conditions for most of the Moken (Sea Gypsies) and island-dwelling Thais in the area. The houses are built on stilts over the water. Here an old lady washes here clothes, a few meters away from here is the trash-littered shore with debris floating in the water. On the shore a chicken pecks through the garbage to find something to eat.
