Smile! You're going to prison

Faithful followers of WWLR will remember when I shared a bit about this young lady last November. Here name is Tiwan.
This weekend she came to Chiang Mai to speak at 2 churches and share her testimony. She spoke at a English speaking congregation in the morning and then at a Thai one in the evening.
She told about a difficult family life and some rough relationships that set her on a course that left her living in the slums of Bangkok, strung out on drugs, a single mother, a victim of violence and abuse and harboring thoughts of suicide.
Finally, she was arrested on drug charges... that's when her life got better.
You could see it in her face.
She beamed with joy as she talked about going to prison.

But why?
Why would a young girl get excited about going to jail?
Because that is where she met Jesus Christ.
Through a Baptist prison ministry, she learned about Jesus and gave her life to Him. After serving for a year and a 1/2 in prison, she was released from the Thai correctional system, but Jesus had released her long before that...
...released her from sin, self-destructive behavior and eternal judgment.
Since then, she has grown in her faith, given her life to God, entered seminary and returned to prison, but this time as one of the people who ministers to inmates.
She glows with excitement as she talks about her opportunity to share Jesus with the prisoners of Thailand. She praises God for turning her life around and giving her hope and a reason to live.
Please pray for Tiwan and the prison ministry in Thailand as they seek to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who need it so desperately.
Please pray for Thais that live in a spiritual prison everyday of their lives. Ask that Christ might brake the chains that keep them from a personal and saving relationship with him.
"But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe." - Galatians 3:22
