Getaway
"For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on teh seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." - Exodus 20:11

This is Baan Klang Doi ("house of the mountain river").
Sunday after church, I headed out of town to a little valley where there are several resorts with hotels, bungalows and cabins. I stayed there overnight for a time of rest, renewal, reading and prayer. It was a wonderful time to get away from cell phones, emails, videos, traffic, computers and all the other stuff that clutters our lives.
It's strange... God clearly wants us to rest- and to find our rest in Him, but how often do we do it? We are always in a rush to do something. Whether it's work, picking the kids up a school, getting groceries, going to choir practice, setting up for the women's conference at the church or whatever, we are always busy. But that's not the way it's supposed to be; you can see it in nature. God created seasons for growing, for bearing fruit, for laying fallow, for planting. He wants us to enjoy those seasons in our lives too. Maybe you'll even stop to notice His creation that has His fingerprints all over it.

Shhhh, don't disturb me, I'm taking Sabbath.
