Seattle Trip Part 2: A Day in the Mountains
On our first Saturday in Seattle, Rufina and I took a day trip out of the city to enjoy some of the beautiful natural scenery of Washington.

Our first stop was at Snoqualmie Falls Park which you see below (but can see the falls at full flow by clicking on the link before). The falls are the site of a hydroelectric plant and a lodge that hosts weddings and other events. The TV show, Twin Peaks, was also shot in the area.

Here's Rufina at the overlook facing the falls.

One of the pleasant surprises during our trip was all the beautiful flowers; they were everywhere- in and outside of the city. Here's a sample.

After the falls, we took a short drive down the road to Little Mount Si (which was right next to Mount Si- 4167 feet- seen in the background). We hiked up to the top, passing hikers and mountain climbers on the way. Rufina and Elmo enjoy the view from 1576 feet up.

We passed several hikers and mountain climbers on the way to the top. It was a good hike with some decent elevation increases toward the end of the hike.

On top of the world... or Little Mount Si.

After our hike, lunch and a trip to REI, we raced back to Joe's house Kenmore to watch the Dogs beat Oklahoma State.
Up next: A "little" bigger mountain.
